Breathe again

You’re reeling from the pain

The loss of a friend

The loss of a partner

Of a parent

The loss of something

Just sit down

Try to breathe

Let the pain wash over in waves

Let the grief consume

If only for a moment

If you deny it, it will consume you entirely

Just breathe

And let life teach you to breathe again

Let life take you on its journeys

Far past the dreams and hopes

Of yourself

To adventures and experiences untold

Just breathe

Breathe in the flowers you stop to smell

Breathe new life into yourself

Remember the good times that nothing can take away

Remember the person they made you become

The experiences you had

Just breathe again

And let it wash over you

Like the reckless love of God
