There’s a rhythm and rush to life these days one i cannot stand
The world demands you to always be productive to b running in the rat race
But I refuse to run in the rat race
I’m content to live my simple life
To write my poetry and protect my peace
I don’t chase after success it’ll find me eventually
I cherish the free time I have to spend with family and friends
I want for nothing I have a roof over my head and food on the table
Money to spend how I please
I’m not rich but I can cover all the necessities and still have money left over
I want to go back to simpler rhythm and rush when we weren’t all running in the rat race
Because the rush these days leaves you empty with nothing but broken dreams
There is a truth and it’s on my side
All the hustle and bustle these days
Isn’t good for us
Aren’t you sick of running always trying to keep up with the joneses
Trying to afford that new car
Believing if you just sacrifice everything else in your life on the altar of your career
You’ll have enough money
Enough money for what
Will that money bring back the lost moments of your child’s childhood you missed
Will it bring back the time you didnt spend with your parents or your partner
Because you were too busy working
The rhythm and rush of the day isn’t for me
I have escaped it can you?
