Darling I know pain is as natural as the rain
But I didn’t count on quite this much this early on in my life
We’re surviving though, we’re living, but are we stronger
I know hate is always waiting at the gate as is pain but don’t let the hate through the gate
Pain comes whether you open the gate or not but hate is a choice
I’m tired and I’m worn the pain of the last decade has been heavy on my mind
The loss of a grandparent, the ending of a relationship I thought would last forever
The loss of a father, the pain of realizing people weren’t who you thought they were
Pain is as natural as the rain but I didn’t expect so much of it in the last 10 years
I know the struggle ends but when does it end
Does it only end when we’re dead
When we move on to our final glorious end
Let me see redemption win let me see the struggle end
Let your grace fill this place and fill this heart
Let your power bring forth reconciliation unto me
Because pain is as natural as the rain but my response to it doesn’t have to be
My response doesn’t have to be a knee jerk reaction
I can process it and react in a healthy way
There is hope in between the clouds when the sun come shining down joy fills the air
It’s just as natural as the rain and the sun peeking through the clouds
I just have to wait for the sun to rear its head and banish the clouds away
So, I can get a little breathing room.
