I remember the internet in its infancy

When google was just getting started  

When they still lived by their motto don’t be evil 

Now it’s changed 

Information overload 

Wikipedia 

Ads everywhere 

Suggested and sponsored results at the top of every page 

Ads at the top of search results 

The darkness and negativity at the top of every page 

The lies at the tips of your fingertips 

The good you have to search for 

Misleading searches 

Was it a mistake 

Because it is not the same 

Is it a bastardization of its original intent 

Tragedy and hope all wrapped up in memes
