I’m hanging by a thread that never seems to go away
Just waiting for a change
I know I’ll be happy later
That’s what they always say
But I’m tired of waiting for later
And so are you
But you must soldier on cause happiness does come
Sometimes fleeting sometimes lasting
It looks like everyone’s got it all figured out
But I promise you at least half those people are deeply broken inside
And they’re no happier than you
They’re just like you
Good at putting on a face
A brave face
But its nothing but a mask hiding their fears and hurts
Their wounds and traumas
The thread will break one day and you’ll be able to finally hit the ground
That’s when you’ll truly start to live
But sometimes
Its all got to come crashing down before you find the way down
Back from the pedestal you’re trying to climb on
Cause that’s where you think like will be great
But like on a pedestal is no greater than anywhere else
Because pedestals are meant to be toppled down
Along with the people on them
