Theres a simple pleasure in the everyday
That we’re so used to the everyday that we forget to give it awe
The days start to run together and we forget how beautiful it is
To wake up each morning
How wonderful that cup of coffee is in the morning
We forget to smell the flowers and watch the sunsets and sunrises
We forget that every day is a miracle and a gift
Theres a million things that could go wrong at any given moment
Theres a million different ways we could not live to see tomorrow or that or life could derail
I think every single ordinary fay is a gift
I know I would give anything to go back 4 years and appreciate all those ordinary days
As the gifts they were
Infinitely ordinary days are a blessing in disguise
We seek stability and comfort
Yet forsake it for adventure
We forget that every day is a gift
And the ordinary days are the ones we’ll look back at in regret
Because we didn’t appreciate everything we had in those infinitely ordinary days that never seem to end
Until they do and then there’s no going back.
I hate to see people malign the ordinary
Yet everyone does
But the ordinary is the lifeblood of existence
Not every day is exceptional and that’s okay those ordinary days where we spend time with people important to us deserve to be cherished and remembered.
