As Long As It Takes

Giant hourglass sculpture with sand flowing, person standing beside it

As long as it takes

I’ll keep shouting into the void

Screaming my messages of hope and resilience

Shouting that there are better days ahead

That you can do this all you need is a stick

A person to listen

Someone to tell you, you aren’t alone

That others have been through this, and are going through this

That you have the heart and soul of a warrior

That you are a survivor

Who just need to learn how to thrive

I won’t promise the road is easy or short

That fighting your way out of survivorship into actually living life

Won’t take time and more effort than you thought you had

But you are a wellspring of resistance

Otherwise, you wouldn’t have made it this far

You are Invictus

You are unconquered

Though you be surrounded on all sides

You have withstood the tests of time, and strife

You will be the conqueror of your own mind

All you need is a little help.
