We’re going on a journey through our dark side
Through our shadow
We’re going to plunge into the depths of our soul
And work on all of our parts
Our vulnerabilities that we hide
Our conditioning that drives us
Our trauma and pains we hide
And hide from they’re all hidden in the shadow where we banished them
We didn’t necessarily do so consciously
We did it to survive
We did it to live as best as we could
When the hurts and pains presented themselves
When the trauma was inflicted
But we’re in a position now to accept all of us
To see what drives our behaviors
And heal those parts of ourselves rooted in trauma
Diving into our shadow/dark side
Won’t be easy and shouldn’t be done lightly
But it’s worth it to reframe how we behave
To rewire our conditioning
To heal ourselves we must accept ourselves
And see all of us
I’ve been betrayed and outcast
So, I must deal with my fear and mistrust of people
I’m going spelunking in the dark side of my soul
Because there are no bad parts
No parts that can’t be healed with time and concerted effort
I long for connection but while my trauma is conditioning
Me to mistrust everyone i hold everyone at an arm’s length
That mistrust has protected me in the past it was formed as a result of trauma
But it’s time has come to no longer drive me
So, I’ll bring it out into the light and work on it.
So, I invite you into your own shadow into your own dark side
What vulnerabilities and conditioning hides there
What heights can you ascend to if you accept all parts of yourself and heal
If you accept that there are no bad parts just wounded parts of yourself
Yearning to be free and whole?
