The Fine Print Of Life

Magnifying glass revealing contract text about yielding rights and signature with blood-stained signature and wax seal

No one ever read me the fine print of life

I never got to see the contract with my name stamped on it in blood

I never understood what I didn’t sign up for

Until life sprang its deadly surprises on me

Ranging from depression to disorder and chaos

Cancer, death, and the loss of loved ones

We never agreed to it’s terms but we are subject to them none the less

We are brought into this world kicking and creaming

And we leave this world begging for more time for just another minute

But this thing we call life is not without hope

It’s not without merit

For though there are many horrible things

The good things abound as well

The innocent laugh of a child

The beauty of the wildflowers dressed in all their finery

The sky painted in colors during sun rise and sunset

The stars festooning the midnight sky with light the moon hanging in the sky

All of creation is beautiful from the peaceful crashing waves to the torrential rain

Beauty and joy abounds you just have to take it in

The songs of the birds

The whistling breeze, the babbling brooks

All of creation sings of beauty

This is the other fine print of life that is often overlooked

Willfully by many

All of creation sings of the beauty and wonder of its creator

Pain and suffering abound but they are not the end all be all of life

Even when life drags you down the worlds sings its song trying to remind you of the beauty that surrounds us all

We are meant to join in on the song of creation

But it is our own choice

Whether or not we contribute to the song

Or add to the discordance trying to drown it out

The choice is yours

It’s always been yours

What to do with your life

Even though you did not agree to the terms of this life

You have the choice of what to do with it

You are in control of your life you didn’t choose it but how it ends up

Is all up to you

You can choose to wallow in chaos and despair

Or look at the beauty that surrounds and choose to live that beauty out in your own life
