Revolution, Bloody Revolution

low section of man against sky

They call for revolution

Desperate for a change

They call to rebel

What they don’t remember is that the revolution is rarely bloodless

Even the most bloodless of them

Has always had the spilling of blood

What they are really calling for here is a civil war

They forget or do not realize that it so often pits brother against sister and

Father against son

They tear families and homes apart

Cities, Counties, States, and even backyards

Would become battlegrounds

There would be no safe spaces or places

All will be the frontline

In a nation like ours in a modern revolution their would be no easily drawn lines

Of this is where the battleground is this is where one side lives

And this where the other does

Bloodlines destroyed in a night

Entire cities razed

Whole counties burned

Bloody revolution isn’t what we need though

What we need is a revolution of the mind and

A Revolution of the Soul

We need a revolution of grace

A revolution of love

A revolution of thought

The world doesn’t need more blood to fall on it

It gets enough of that every day all across the world

To evoke real lasting change we need something more than deaths and bloody revolutions

We need to change how we feel and think about others

We need to change how we feel and think about the world

We need a revolution of our souls

A revolution where a simple disagreement doesn’t turn us into enemies

A revolution of the mind and soul

I’m doing my part spreading my messages of hop and light and reconciliation

Are you doing yours?
