We are all the Body

We are all parts of a whole in Christ
For we are all parts of the same body
As Paul said “for we are all baptized by one spirit so as to form one body”
Whether we be jews or gentiles
Proud or humble
Slave or free
Whether we are still enmired in sin
Or freer than others
We who have been baptized are of one body
The foot can say because I am not a hand
I am not a part of the body
But that does not make it so
It does not make its working any less
Important than the hands
For all parts of the body are needed to work in concert
And through the Holy Spirit we are granted
Cooperation
So that we may minister to the world
So that we may be the hands that heal
The mouth that speaks words of encouragement
The feet that carry the gospel
The mind that takes pleasure in serving others
The heart that cares
The stomach that knows the needs of hunger and so
Feeds the poor
So that we may lead all to Christ
While some parts may seem less desirable
We treat them with special honor
The parts that may be unseemly we clothe with special modesty
For God has put us all together
Giving great honor to the parts that lacked it
So that there should be no division among us
That all parts may have equal love and concern
For one another
If one part suffers so does every other part with it
If one part is honored
All parts rejoice with it
Sadly we have let the world divide us
And in so many places the body fights among itself
But let the 2 greatest commandments
Be our watch words
So that we may be the body whole and true as God intended
The 2 greatest commandments are these
Love God and Love People
All the other commandments fall under these
Hate the sin but hate not the sinner
Love all as Christ has loved us.
