Your Voice

silhouette photo of a person standing on rock

Your voice made the stars ignite

And gave me eyes to see their light

Your voice calms my soul

Though I rarely hear it

Your voice soothes my demons and

Banishes them for a time

You’re worth it all

It was your arms that held me both times I held the knife in my hands

Your love that surrounded me and drove the darkness from me

You’re worth it all

Even when I lose sight of your magnificence

When I lose sight of your face

When I lose my way

Still you forgive me

And you call me by name

No matter how far I run

No matter how many wrongs I have committed

The sins I have wrought against myself and others

Still your Love calls me back

Your grace covers all

Your voice calls to me in the deepest darkest parts of my soul

I have yet to let your light reach

And you draw me home
