The Mountain Inside  

There’s a mountain inside of me  

As I climb higher trying to better myself  

I oftentimes slide back down  

It’s that old saying 2 steps forward 1 step back  

But I’ll never stop trying to climb it  

Onward and upward i must go  

The plateau means stagnation and death  

Life is ever changing and so must we be 

We must never stop climbing the mountain inside  

Trying to change for the better  

Trying to adapt to everything this life throws at us  

Always climbing always struggling  

With our own failings  

Our flaws  

Trying to change them rewrite them  

Into new habits  

New purposes  

New heights on the mountain inside
