Don’t Let The Enemy In
If you saw A lion trying to hurt someone you love
If you saw it attacking your family
You’d fend them off with your hands
Or a gun
You’d spring into action
You’d fight for the ones you love
Or die trying
But what about the hearts we’ve given to the king
What about the place where the Lord dwells inside of us
We let the enemy in all the time
Negative thoughts
Emotions
We forget who we are
What we are
That we’re children of the Risen King
And we let ourselves be led astray
We tear off our white robes
To go playing in the mud
When we’ve been bough with blood sweat and tears
Jesus fought and bled for you
So don’t let the enemy in
Let your heart be unfettered by this world
And run to the safety of God
Don’t let the enemy back into your soul
Don’t believe his lies
Don’t get caught up in this world’s pitfalls
Don’t let yourself be led astray
Always run back to the Father
Whose arms are open wide
Always ready to receive us
1st John 3:16-17 16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister[f] in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Huge thanks to Summer Blair for the Song which inspired this one.
