They say the ocean is the last place left unexplored
They used to say we know more about the moon
Than we do the ocean
Though that’s about 70 years out of date
What I do know is I love it’s peace and serenity
The ferociousness of it
The fact that it can be so peaceful and calming
Yet so terrifying
So many people are terrified of the ocean
But for me I love it
The waves crashing on the shore
The gentle and sometimes ferocious rolling of a boat
The storms so calm and fearful
It reminds me of the love of God
Calm and peaceful
Yet ferocious
Peaceful yet frightening
In its depth and breadth
Just as the ocean is deep so is the love of God
He hides our sins away from us
As it says in Micah 7:19
“You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea”
How much does God love us too
Throw our sins into the depths of the sea
How deep how wide
How never ending
How countless
Like the grains of sand on the beach
God grant me the strength of your love
That I might be your light
Shining like a lighthouse onto the sea
Help me steer others away from rocky shores
And bring them into the
All encompassing arms of your love
Amen
