Have you ever learned how to slow down
From the rhythm and rush
From the rat race
Or do you still run in the maze
Dancing to the beat of a drum not your own
Forgetting to stop and smell the roses
Instead, always rushing for the cheese
Have you ever considered what they get out of us always running the rat race
How they keep us unfocused and confused
Tired and beaten down
Always running off to this or that
Never able to sit down and think properly about the propaganda that we’re being fed
About the lies and misdirection
Not when we’re too busy running the rat race
We all need to slow down and spend time where it counts
With friends and family
Because we’re all counting down the days to our own demise
We’re all on a timer that we can’t see
While counting the days as we grow older
Slow down and spend time with your loved ones and allow time for critical thinking
For you can’t fight against what you can’t think about
You can’t just resist blindly
You must put time and effort into your actions lest they be dust in the wind
Slow down and join us in the great revolution against the powers that be
Escape the maze and take the fight to the power brokers
To the shareholders
To the politicians bought and sold
Remember they want you in that frantic pace unable to pay attention or think critically
Swallowing every lie, they sell
Spend time with your children keep them from growing up into the obedient slaves to the system that they want
Grow them into the rebels that we need
Make time for art
Whether you’re consuming or creating
Make time for the rebellion to grow inside of you and slow down and think
