Sunday Morning Preacher said “Life’s a Mist it’s just a breath”
My daddy’s gravestone would say 1958-2024
The years between just a little line
There’s a day we’re born and a day we pass in between is just a dash
A whole life lived represented by just a dash
Life’s just a breath in between the beginning and the end
But what you do with it has repercussions far beyond you
There’s this concept that you die three times
The first time is when your breath leaves your body
The second is when your body is placed in the ground
The third and final time is the last time your name is spoken
Our lives are short, but they can be fraught with meaning
If we make them so
To have my life reverberate through the ages
To live a life fraught with meaning is my fondest wish
I don’t want it for my own glory I just want to have a meaningful impact on this world
I want that dash to mean something
I don’t want to live forever
I don’t even care if I’m remembered for centuries
I just want to make a difference here and now
I want that dash to mean something more
I want to change lives that’s my fondest wish
I want to bring hope to the downtrodden masses those being defeated by their own minds
The hope I didn’t have for the longest time
I want to show them a way out of their pain
I want to give them hope for brighter and better days
Hope for a future they can’t see from where they are stuck in the trenches of their own mind
I want to help others have their time on this earth be more than a dash
More than just a line in between
Inspired by Crowder and Toby Mac’s song Dash
