Death and I have long danced in the pale moon light
We dance and dance around each other and flirt back and forth
Long has she sung her sweet song of oblivion to me
Several times have I pledged myself to her only to pull back
At the last moment before the embrace
Before sealing the deal
But the one time I gave myself fully
She spurned me back into the world of the living
She refused me sweet oblivion
So, I have spurned her as well like a jilted lover
Now we stand on opposite ends of the dance hall
As Life the She devil twirls me around through pain and Joy
She’s an abusive lover
Bringing you to the heights of ecstasy
And the depths of despair
But I would not trade this lover for another
Not until the day she finally spurns me and sends me into the arms of her sister
When Death finally accepts me into her loving arms I shall go to my long-awaited rest
Cause I’m not going to lie my feet ache and hurt
Even though I’m still young I tire of my dance with life
But I won’t end it early
I’ve already tried once and was rejected
Sides I mad promises too never do so again
So, I’ll continue dancing with Life through our odd twists and turns
As death and I spare glances at each other both of us acting like jaded jilted lovers
Flirting from across the room
