I’m so glad you came
I know it’s been rough lately
But it just wouldn’t be the same without you here
Step inside and sit down for a while
Pick your poison and sit down
Come gather round the table and lets eat
I’ve missed you while you’ve been gone
While you’ve been fighting yourself and your demons
I’ve missed your smile
And so has the world
I know it’s been a rough couple of weeks
Hell its been a rough couple of years
But this place
This world is brighter with you in it
So I’m glad you’re here
Come on in
Stop skulking around outside
Thinking no one wants to see your face
I know you think you drag everybody down but that’s not true
We’ve all been looking forward to your return
I know it feels like the whole world is spinning around
Trying to throw you off
Don’t sit there in the corner
I know you’re an introvert like me
But it’s a small gathering
Come join us
And bask in the glow of people
That are glad you’re here
Store up these joys
For the hard days when they come
Come eat your fill and know we’re glad you’re here
Even when it doesn’t feel like it
You make this place and this world brighter
This gathering tonight is an act of war
Against the shadows that grip us all
Against our struggles
And our fears
We’ll settle the score and raise a toast to life
For darkness, death, depression, and hate
They’ve had their part to play
Now it’s time for them to make way for another host
We will drink up every cup
Filled with joy and grief
We will feast and find the light we so desperately need
Here in our family made of blood and strangers
We will find the joy and comfort
Needed to continue on
So come on in and feast
