Everest Has Fallen

And His Spirit Ascends A Tribute To My Daddy (Jimmy Francis)

The unthinkable the unknowable from just 12 years ago has happened

Everest has fallen

My daddy has passed on

Everest has fallen and his spirit ascends

The great mountain of a man I’ve always known

Who found the courage and strength in God to change and be a better man

Has passed on

He has gone to his heavenly reward

He is welcomed with exuberance and joy

With the words “Well done my Good and Faithful Servant”

While we are left with tears and a hole in our hearts and lives that shall not be filled again

On this earth

My father

My Daddy

The man who could always be counted on

Whose word was his bond

Who was respected and loved by all who knew him

Who I’ve never heard anyone say a bad thing about

Has gone away

The sky has lost a mountain

Great and unassailable

Who even in the face of stage 4 cancer

Did not break

A man whom without we all will feel at least a little lost

Has gone on to his great rest and reward

While we are left here to carry on his legacy

His legacy of Love

Respect

Honesty

Integrity

And Cheerful service

To his fellow man

Everest has fallen

My greatest Hero and Role model is no more on this planet earth

But he leaves behind his legacy for us

He is survived by his Father, Brother, Sister, His Beautiful Darling Bride, 4 Sons, a Daughter in law and 4 grandchildren

Who were the pride and joy of his life

He is survived by innumerable friends and a great many he considered to be family even if they weren’t by blood

Who must sojourn on in a difficult task

Of Living in this world without his friendship, his encouragement, and his presence

Everest has fallen and his spirit ascends

And the skyline will never be the same

But carry on we must and will

Empowered by the lessons and love that he taught us

We love you daddy and we will always miss you

A tribute to Jimmy Francis
