I have a reckless heart
That loves without fear of consequences
A fearless soul
Throwing caution to the wind
And charges in
It soars to great heights
And swoops to great lows
My reckless heart
It doesn’t understand caution or patience
It knows when it feels a connection and
Throws caution to the wind and chases after it
My reckless heart has caused me multiple broken hearts
But I wouldn’t change it for anything
My reckless heart
Reminds me that Love is real
And worth the cost
My brain cries out that the cost is high
For it remembers every broken heart
Every betrayal
While my heart remembers not
My heart sees only the best
While my mind sees mainly the worst
How I love my reckless heart
Surrounded in love
I’ve thrown off the chains
I want to pursue God
But I’ve still got some entanglements
That do not let me pursue
With the reckless abandon that I know
I have
Making me want more than I have
Causing
This reckless heart of mine
To seek my God
