The Saltwater air fills my lungs and I feel at peace
Memories flood through my mind
Memories of flying kites, and fishing
I feel just about as close to dad as I can since he passed
I soak up the sun and fly dad’s kite and I feel free as the birds in the air
I’m in heaven when I watch the waves roll in
I go down and soak my feet in the water and I soak up the sun
I’m about as close to dad and God as I can get
At least this side of heaven
I love the beach with everything that I am
Saltwater is a healing balm to my soul
And saltwater air makes me feel alive
Joy’s here, the waves, and the bubbles
Home away from home, pointing me Home
Following the bubbles up
I don’t come often maybe once a year
But the saltwater gospel breathes in my soul
When I’m on the beach I’ve got all the proof I need
I can feel the spirit of God and my dad in the air
The light of the sunset and the strength of the waves
Reminding me I’m loved, and of the light above
I’m reminded of the power of my savior
Of the love of my heavenly father, and my earthly father who passed away
I’m reminded of the power of God
Of how he saved me
And continues to save me from myself
I love the saltwater gospel
I’m reminded to live like I was dying because there are no guarantees
There are no promises made about the length of your days
At least none worth the paper they’re written on
Let me remind you paper is on average a penny per a sheet of paper.
So remember, life is short, paper is cheap
Go live free, go love deeply, go make the most of the time you’ve got.
