This World Needs Love  

This world is in dire need of Love 

It’s so full of hate 

Hate over stupid shit 

Hate over differing opinions 

Hate over hurt feelings 

For me hate is a fleeting thing 

I find very few people and things deserving of hate 

The only people I truly hate are rapists and abusers of children 

I hate the idea of sushi 

And I absolutely abhor cooked spinach 

Otherwise hate has no place inside of me 

I find it exhausting to invest time and energy into hating people places or things 

I’d much rather be filled with love  

Towards my fellow man 

Even though I find it difficult 

In a world so filled with hate why would you choose 

To contribute to it 

You just have to treat the people you come across  

With the same respect and decency you’d expect in return 

If we all did that this world would change drastically  

If only we could treat each other with love and respect 

But for so many hate is easier 

It’s what they’ve been taught 

They’ve been taught to be intolerant 

That you must agree with them or you are evil 

A nazi, a fascist 

Or whatever demon they can come up with to dehumanize you 

We need to go back to the old idea of tolerance and love 

You can have your opinion or beliefs and i can believe they’re wrong 

But that doesn’t mean we see each other as evil or worthy of hate 

I just want to fill this world with Love and transform the hate
