Sitting beneath a sunlit sky

I remember how wonderful

Life is

How beautiful the world is

With crashing waves about 30 feet away

With beautiful clouds and beautiful sun

Nice cool sand beneath my feet

I remember the reasons why I persist

The reasons outside of my family

And the promises I’ve made

Life is beautiful

Awful sometimes horrific even

Yet through it all there are these beautiful sacred moments

Like sitting on this gorgeous beach in Cape Charles Virginia

Surrounded by family

Laughing relaxing

Reading just enjoying our short time all here together

These are the moments that give me strength

That remind me of who I am

A lover and cherisher of these moments

I store them up in my heart and mind

For the dark days

Weeks, and months

So that in those moments

I have remembrance

I have hope

And when I remember sometimes

It hits me like a freight train

The darkness isn’t all there is there’s light

And love

Glory

Grace

Sun in the sky

And a beach full of sand with a nice cool breeze

So I’ll sit under this sunlit sky

And I’ll cherish this moment

And store it away

I’ll hoard it like a dragon hoards Gold

For it means so much to me

All the beauty of sunlit sky and family.
