Happiness It’s so often sought 

Often times people think it’s something to be bought

Truth is it can’t be bought with money

However Blood Sweat Tears and Time can

For how has anyone ever achieved happiness

Other than working towards it

Some people work all their lives and never find it

It’s very presence eludes many

It’s even mentioned in the Constitution

“We hold these truths to be Self-Evident that all Men are created equal, that they are all endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Happiness was and the pursuit of it was so important

That the Founding Fathers enshrined it in our Bill of Rights and Constitution

But what is happiness and how can it be achieved?

What is joy and is it better or worse

God himself never promises us happiness 

He instead promises us JOY

Joy is what should actually be pursued

For happiness is fleeting but Joy is lasting

I find my Joy in helping others

In my friends and family

In seeing someones life change for the better

In helping to pull others out of the darkness they reside in

Up out of the pits of their despair

Where do you find Joy

Where do you find happiness

Do you pursue it

Or wait for it to come to you

It must be pursued

A fact that i have to remind myself of

I must pursue Joy

Find happiness and appreciate it

But pursue Joy and revel in it
